In today's knowledge-based economy, continuous learning is not an option but a necessity for most working professionals. This means constantly updating one’s skills and taking additional courses to keep abreast of developments. Alternatively, affordability concerns mean that many students at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels are combining work and study. This has prompted many college and university continuing education programs to broaden their focus to meet the demand for career-related curricula with courses delivered at times and in places convenient to working professionals. Hence, many continuing education programs have also incorporated cross-disciplinary professional curricula, new instructional formats, e-learning, and entrepreneurial partnerships into their courses.
